Race 4 The House Year in Review – Delivering the Toys!

As the year quickly comes to a close I want to take a moment and reflect on what a fantastic year we’ve had raising funds to support the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House and give thanks to all of our supporters large and small. I say this often and I’ll say it again now, it only takes $15 for a family in need to stay so every bit of what we do really can and does go a long way!

My family of friends and racers all turned out in force for our dinner, race, breakfast and finished of the year big at our annual toy drive. Our family of friends and racers can make such an incredible difference in the world of the family of the sick children 24/7 as they fight the good fight. As we do these charity events, I feel like we are also fighting the fight by their side, but our way. All looking forward to the day when they can be a normal family again living a normal life again (That’s my wish for all of them).

When we went to deliver the toys to the House, we were greeted by Anthony Stover ( Community Relations Manage) and he immediately sat us down to share a quick breakfast with some of the families that were staying. We heard a couple of their stories –there stories enforce our mission and drives me to continue to ask your help in supporting this great cause. As we were finishing breakfast, Jimmy Murray, Co-Founder of the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House comes over and sat down to thank us personally. He then proceeded to autograph a box full of his books, one for each of us! Next we toured the House and Wow the expansions are just AWESOME.

From there we went to work unloading 50 bags of toys, 2 bicycles, two scooters, a couple boxes of toys and then we gave them the Race 4 The House Check – the four events of 2019 managed to yield a yearly total of $ 47,604.14 – a new record by far!!!

Thank you from the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House, Thank you from Jimmy Murray, Thank you from the Families and sick children who are at the house, but most of all, Thank you from me to all of you Angels. Without all of you, we could never touch so many lives.

God Bless you and a Safe and Happy New Year to all, and to all a great job! I’ll take a quick break for New Year’s Eve and then I’ll be back at is early in the new year getting the ball rolling for 2020’s events starting in March.
